This past Sunday Alaska welcomed a new governor and bid one farewell. I along with thousands of others watched as Sarah Palin stepped down from office and Sean Parnell was sworn in as the new governor of Alaska. It was a very festive occasion and the weather was fantastic(87 degrees!). One of the amazing things about Alaska is that you are able to see moments like this up close personal.
Another fun aspect of the day was seeing all the national media who had turned up for the event. Former UAF student and journalist, Dani Carlson (BA Journalism, 2006) even met Daily Show Correspondent Jason Jones, who was there conducting interviews.
